The house of Fendi has long considering that been known for its storied Italian craftsmanship and unequaled artisanal details and Fendi’s recent collection oozes all of those feelings and more. In a sensational display, Kim Jones and the house of Fendi just presented its fall 2021 couture collection and it is nothing short of jaw dropping. The collection featured a stunning variety of RTW, accessories and handbags, all inspired by ancient and present Rome. Jones spoke of his inspirations stating, “Rome is a fascinating city because it has so lots of pasts”, and the influence of Roman culture is seen at every turn. From embroidery and crystal beads to the mother-of-pearl mosaics shown on bags, RTW and more, the collection is a poetic ode to the city that Fendi calls home.

As for the bags, exceptional renditions of the Peekaboo ISEEU and Baguette were seen held my models, and all of the bags were works of art in their own right. The famous Baguette is shrunken down and reimagined as a minaudière, replicating different mosaic effects and finished with the classic FF closure. The ISEEU appears in different renditions as well, with one taking 300 hours of work to complete. It features a grey suede body with natural mother-of-pearl that is indicated to evoke standard Roman mosaics. This collection embodies the true essence and spirit of Fendi, seeking to the city’s past and projecting towards the future at the same time. view the stunning bags from the collection below.
