Those of you that follow PurseBlog frequently probably know my mini-messenger obsession. but surprisingly, that obsession was not the reason why I chose to write about this easy but glam Marc by Marc Jacobs Twisted Q Derby Bag. It’s because it reminded me of a LeSportSac small crossbody bag that my grandmother gave to me. I thought it was ever-so cool, and I carried it until the cotton strap (that’s how long ago this was- no nylon straps) broke and I deemed the tan color uncool.

Then I moved on to a Danskin tiny crossbody. but that’s beside the point. This bag is so much better, obviously. It’s Marc by Marc Jacobs, which is a plus. The leather is ever-so-slightly wrinkled, and the enamel-inlaid logo plate and the gold buckles are the only embellishments to the bag.

Besides the fact that this bag comes in matte red, which ought to really replace many patent red bags(unless if they are somehow done right, which I have rarely seen) it’s the shape that catches me. The distinct oval shape of the bag is distinct from many rectangular mini-messengers, and the long, thin strap balances it perfectly. purchase through Shopbop for $188.
